Kgale Hill

Here is 1 of 2 posts for today.

Kgale Hill is big hill that is 6 kilometers tall (about 3 miles).  You would think that it wouldn't be an easy hike to the top.  Your right, it's not.  On Sunday, my family, the Marine commanders family, and a couple of Marines hiked to the top.  It starts out on an easy slope.  But after about 15 minutes of walking it gets steeper.  If you have ever hiked up Hanging Rock in North Carolina, the hardest part was at the beginning and later steeper.  After about 1 hour of hiking we reached the half-way-point.  That is were the dirt path turns in to PVC.  I think someone said, "Hey! I have an idea to build the trail to the top!  Let's dig 6 inches into the ground and put a bunch of PVC on top.  What a great idea!"  And then not a minute later there was a sign.  It said, (this is not a joke) "If you must litter, don't throw it over the fence.  Throw it somewhere where it is easy for someone to pick up.  Thank You!"  Anyway, when we finally got to the top  there is a sign (again) at the highest point.  This one says, "Beijing 11785 KM <-"  We are planning to put up a Washington D.C. sign.  According to the Marines, there was a Cairo sign at one point but someone took it down.

The post above this one is about the fire a WIS.  Read all about it!!!
