Tuli Block

Hello everyone.  Howerver I get the feeling I'm the only person reading this blog.  Anyway, who ever is out there: Keep Reading!

This post is about my 5 day adventure to Tuli Block, Botswana.  Since I'm half way through my second term, we had a very long mid-term break.  We decided to go to Tuli Block.  This is were the elephants, lions, hyeanas, and so on.  (Please note that Khutse/CKGR also had had the animals listed above)  Instead of tent camping, we were staying in chalets [shal-les], which are a lot like cabins.  There are many places you can stay in Tuli Block.  One of them is Tuli Safari Lodge.  It is a very expensive resort like place that my Aunt Jeane would like.  Sadly because of the price we were not staying there.  Instead we were staying in one of the places owned by Tuli Safari Lodge (from on I'm going to call it TSL).  This place was called Molema Bush Camp.  Next to the Limpopo river you may stay in one of the beautiful chalets at this camp.  Each chalet has a bathroom with running water.  And a kitchen with a full variety of pots, pans, mugs, cups, plates and more!

That is enough about the chalets.  Here is something very interesting that I noticed about TSL and Molema.  Their game reserves were not fenced in unlike Mokolodi and Gaborone Game Reserve.  So basically this means any of the animals could get up and walk to Gaborone if they wanted to (I am NOT saying they will).  Some of the animals we saw were: girraffes, zebras, elephants, jackals, ostriches (there was a huge ostrich farm by Solomons Wall.  These farms are used to get meat and eggs from the ostrachis), and some people saw lions (we did not).  Basically we did selfdrives through the whole trip.  Exept for the Community Visit and the Confluence.

The Confluence is the point where Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa meet (I will have pictures up on the Weekly Post Facebook page* and on a new post next week).  The Limpopo river splits into two to seperate Botswana with Zimbabwe and South Africa.  This means that there is a "pennisula" of Botswana in the Limpopo river.  What I find very funny is that there is an "island" which is owned by Botswana also in the Limpopo river.  (I will have a picture of me on that island on Facebook* and on this blog in a week.)  So basically that is the Confluence.

The Community visit was going to a small vilage that is near TSL.  There wasn't much interesting stuff on this trip but all the small childeren in the village have never seen a white person before so that experience for me was very... interesting (there is a picture of me with all of the childeren in the village. Again that will be on Facebook* and on the blog in a week).

That was basically our trip.

Agian as I say in every post sorry for not posting in a while.  There is also two posts I have not posted on the blog.  OOPS.  This is of Khama Rhino Sancutuary and The BDF Snake Farm.  The BDF Snake Farm is a twenty minute video.  Those should be up by the end of the month.
